Project Able is a charitable endeavour which is returning a number of retired training and recreational aircraft to flight. Grob 109 Vigilant motor gliders used to train thousands of Air Cadets in the United Kingdom are being modernised and getting a new lease of life.

We are making a number of these iconic aircraft available for sale to individuals and organisations. The profits from sales will support Aerobility, which brings the joy of flight to people with disabilities, serious illnesses and injured ex-military personnel.

Some of the aircraft are also being adapted to enable disabled people to fly them, as part of Aerobility’s continued development.

Aerobility is a charity that, through exposure to aviation, seeks to improve the lives of people with all kinds of disabilities including physical impairments, learning difficulties, mental health conditions & sensory impairments Aerobility has acquired the decommissioned Vigilant Motor Glider fleet from the UK Ministry of Defence.

This project will allow Aerobility to expand its operation and enhance about 1,600 more lives every year from its headquarters at Blackbushe Airport in Hampshire and Tatenhill in Staffordshire, as well as supporting expansion to additional locations throughout the UK.

The aircraft which aren’t used by Aerobility themselves will be refurbished and sold to generate revenue for the charity, in order to pay for progressive refurbishments and the ongoing running costs of their operational aircraft.
